This Privacy Policy describes how StepSnap (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information when you use our Chrome Extension.

StepSnap is designed to help users create step-by-step documentation by capturing browser actions.

• Captured Data: When the recording is active, the extension captures screenshots, page titles, URLs, and click events performed by the user.
• Purpose: This information is collected solely for the purpose of generating documentation for the user.

2. Data Storage

• Local Storage: All captured data (including screenshots and metadata) is stored locally on your device using Chrome’s internal storage.
• No Server Uploads: We do not transmit, upload, or store your data on any external servers. Your data remains under your complete control at all times.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, or trade your personal information or captured data with any third parties.

4. Data Deletion

You can delete your captured documentation at any time through the StepSnap dashboard within the extension. Uninstalling the extension will also remove all locally stored data associated with it.

5. Permissions

StepSnap requires the following permissions to function:

• activeTab: To capture the content and screenshots of the current page.
• storage: To save your documentation locally.
• tabs: To manage the documentation preview and recording state across tabs.
• downloads: To allow you to export your documentation as files.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
